"Emo Farm" Planning and Location Scouting

December 14, 2003

Well...I suppose it's time we let you in on our little secret. The next production for Bohemian Films will be entitled "Emo Farm". The short film is about a farm in south Texas where ranchers raise herds of nerdy, scrawny, pretentious scenesters. "Emo Farm" will be in the style of a mockumentary, which is a comical farce in the style of a documentary (think "Spinal Tap," "Waiting For Guffman," and "Drop Dead Gorgeous"). We're all really excited around headquarters. Here are the most recent developments on the film...

Saturday Night: Pre-production meeting
Dylan, Vince, and I got together Saturday night to compare notes and share ideas for the film. It's really only in it's infancy, and we're filming next weekend, so we have a lot of work to get to. We went through a list of scenes we want to include in the film (which will later be broken up into those we absolutely need and those we just would like to have), discussed materials which will be needed, and set up a tentative filming schedule. Sunday Morning: Location Scouting
The next morning, I took Dylan and Vince out for their first glimpse of where we will be doing much of the filming for "Emo Farm," a nearby stable where Bohemian Films starlet-to-be Ace (the horse) resides. After I introduced the guys to Ace, I showed them around and we discussed several ideas for filming. Pics below (click to enlarge)

We really couldn't be more excited about this film. It's been a long time since we've tackled a big picture like this, and it's something we've been wanting to do for a very long time. Later this week, we'll probably be engaged in more location scouting, costume and prop purchasing, and finally filming on the weekend. Keep an eye on the site, because there's going to be a lot happening in a short time.
